1. Introduction

MyGetGoing ("we", "us", "our") operates the GetGoing Chrome extension and related web services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use, share and protect it, and the rights you have. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. If you are in the EU/EEA, we process your data in accordance with the GDPR.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: your email and name when you register or sign in (including via Google).
  • User content: the tasks, notes, journal entries, files, contacts and chat messages you create in the app.
  • Integration data: calendar events, tasks and email you choose to connect from Google or Microsoft — only after you explicitly authorize the connection.
  • Payment data: if you subscribe, billing is handled by Stripe; we store your subscription status but never your full card details.
  • Usage data: activity such as feature usage and completion counts, linked to your account, used to operate and improve the service and to power workspace/admin analytics.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide, maintain and improve the service
  • Sync your tasks, notes, calendars and files across your devices
  • Enable communication and sharing between users you choose to connect with
  • Process subscriptions and payments
  • Send you important service-related messages

4. Google API Services — Limited Use

GetGoing’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data (such as your profile, calendar or email, when connected) to provide user-facing features within the app; we do not sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it to others except as needed to provide the service, comply with law, or as you direct.

5. AI Features

Some optional features use AI to generate insights (for example, journal summaries). When you use these features, the relevant content you choose to analyze (such as your notes or journal entries) is sent to our AI provider, Google (Gemini API), to produce the result. This content is not used to train Google’s general models. If you do not use these features, your content is not sent for AI processing.

6. How We Share Data

We never sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers ("processors") that help us run the service, and only as needed:

  • Google Cloud — hosting, database and file storage (EU region)
  • Google — sign-in, and Calendar/Gmail when you connect them; Gemini for optional AI features
  • Microsoft — calendar and tasks when you connect them
  • Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions
  • Firebase (Google) — authentication, push notifications and presence
  • LiveKit — real-time audio/video calls
  • Other users you explicitly share content with, and authorities when required by law

7. Data Retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and user content, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations (for example, payment records). Backups are rotated on a regular schedule.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption of data in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest. Access to production data is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using appropriate technical and organizational measures.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

The extension and web app use browser storage (such as chrome.storage and localStorage) to keep you signed in and to remember your settings. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

10. Your Rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account and its data directly in the app (Profile → Delete account), or contact us at privacy@mygetgoing.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. International Transfers

Your data is primarily processed in the EU. Some processors (such as Stripe and Firebase) may process data outside the EU/EEA; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

12. Children

GetGoing is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated in the app.
